A clever little case to protect two pairs of eyeglasses and cleaning cloth
Materials list and cutting instructions for eyeglass case:
1. Place the fashion fabric over the flannel and Sashiko stitch the back of the Sashiko stitched fabric. Tack in place.
2. Place the Sashiko stitched fabric, right sides together, on a piece of suede. Cut the suede ¾” larger than the Sashiko stitched fabric. Sew, right sides together, with a 1/2” seam allowance. Trim seam and turn right side out. Press. Stitch around the unfinished edges, ½” from edge, to stitch the suede in place.
3. Trim the raw edges to ¼” and turn the extended edges of the suede over the front of the eye glass case. Turn the edge under and stitch in place with a hand or machine stitch.
4. Place eyeglass case with suede side up. Fold the right third of the eyeglass case over as illustrated at left. Secure the corner with a few stitches.
5. Fold the left side of the eyeglass case over.Machine stitch the side along the length of the finished edge, as illustrated above.
6. Trim the bottom of the eyeglass case to even all edges. Sew a 1½” wide x 4” long length of suede across the bottom of the eyeglass case using a ½” seem allowance. Trim the edge to ¼”. Turn the suede to the back, roll the edge under and stitch in place by hand or machine.
7. Add a charm or bead to finish the case. Your case will hold two pairs of eyeglasses, or tuck in your eyeglass cleaning cloth in the front pocket. The suede will keep your eyeglasses smudge free and unscratched. Enjoy!
